Everbank, The Players Championship and the PGA Tour Wives Association Join Together to Support Community PedsCare®

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Recognizing the vital services provided by Community PedsCare® to families across Northeast Florida, EverBank, the PGA TOUR Wives Association and THE PLAYERS Championship joined again to support the nationally-recognized program of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida that provides palliative and hospice care for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

EverBank is the presenting sponsor of “These Kids Can Jam” where Community PedsCare families spend a remarkable day experiencing THE PLAYERS at TPC Sawgrass. EverBank contributed $30,000 to Community PedsCare and THE PLAYERS matched the donation to create this marquee day.

“EverBank is committed to our community and we are proud to invest in our youth,” said Curt Cunkle, EverBank president of North Florida Banking. “Community PedsCare and the entire Community Hospice organization are world-class programs. We are privileged and honored to be a part of what these groups bring to our community.”

Hosted by the PGA TOUR Wives Association, “These Kids Can Jam” features a wide variety of family activities at TPC Sawgrass, including music, arts and crafts, face painting and animal displays from the Jacksonville Zoo.

For the past two years, EverBank, Community PedsCare and the Jaguars teamed up for a tradition called “Jaguar for a Day.” A Community PedsCare family comes to EverBank Field, the child receives a personalized jersey and takes the field as a real Jaguar. EverBank announced that the tradition would continue this year and will expand to host three families in 2015.

Community PedsCare has been helping children and their families in our community since 2000. The award-winning program is run in collaboration with Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children’s Specialty Care and the University of Florida – Jacksonville. There are more than 150 children currently receiving palliative and/or hospice care under the innovative and family-centric program.
