The Foundation of Community Hospice & Palliative Care Hosts Dedication Ceremony

July 10, 2023 (Jacksonville, Fla.) – Last Friday, the Foundation of Community Hospice & Palliative Care hosted a dedication ceremony in honor of Margo Hay, an 18-year volunteer, and ambassador for Community Hospice & Palliative Care, who was recognized in 2021 for her nomination of Woman of the Year at the 2021 Golden Years Gala in Clay County.

Margo’s husband, Richard Hay, chose to honor Margo’s memory by purchasing a garden bench that was placed in the garden at the Community Hospice & Palliative Care Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring. Community Hospice & Palliative Care Volunteer and Foundation teams joined the Hay family and their friends in commemorating the new bench in Memory of Margo.

“Margo would love the idea of a memorial bench because as she often offered others an environment of caring, love, and peacefulness in her own presence, this bench in the gardens at the Hadlow Center will provide others with a place to sit in the peacefulness of the garden and can connect with their own thoughts,” said Richard. “This is a perfect extension of who Margo was and the thought of this bench providing a place for others when they need a moment of quiet reflection, makes us very happy as a family.”

Margo believed in the caring mission of Community Hospice & Palliative Care, which is why she gave so many years as a volunteer, ambassador, and avid supporter of the Pet Peace of Mind program, including adopting a pet.
