Get Informed: What can be done to manage the side effects of pain medication? Sleepiness, constipation and nausea are some of the more common side effects of pain medications, but many will become more manageable or subside as your body adjusts to the medicine. Tell your caregivers and doctors about any side effects you experience and ask for help in managing them.
