Community Hospice & Palliative Care and Florida Blue Celebrate the Life Of Kerri Masley, the former Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Programs and Evaluation at Florida Blue with a Special Dedication
Jacksonville, Fla. (May 17, 2019) – On May 16, 2019, Kerri Masley, a remarkable woman employed at Florida Blue for 17 years and known for her passion for making a difference in the lives of those in need was honored for leaving a lasting impression on the world Kerri Masley passed away in October 2018 in the care of Community Hospice & Palliative Care. She is fondly remembered by everyone in her life for being a kind, smart and beautiful soul who loved to help others. Kerri family and co-workers from Florida Blue celebrated her life by attending an exception dedication ceremony at the Anne & Donald McGraw Center for Caring of Community Hospice & Palliative Care.
“Often, colleagues are like your family and at Florida Blue, we are family. All of us on the Florida Blue team are better people to have known Kerri,” expressed Susan Towler, Executive Director at Florida Blue.
“I can’t thank Kerri’s family from Florida Blue and Community Hospice & Palliative Care enough for this ceremony in honor of my sister. Ironically, today is Kerri’s birthday,” said Todd Masley, Kerri’s brother.
Susan Ponder-Stansel, President & CEO of Community Hospice & Palliative Care, gave a touching closing remark about how the living learns from the dying.
On behalf of Kerri’s love for life, her family dedicated a beautiful tree and charming birdhouse placed in the Memorial Garden at the Anne & Donald McGraw Center for Caring. A brief service was led by Chaplain Larry O’Connell. After the dedication ceremony, Kerri’s loved ones set rocks around the tree and birdhouse.
“We had an artist paint the rocks in celebration of Kerri,” explained Velma Monterio – Tribble, Director of Grants and Programs at Florida Blue.
The dedication ceremony concluded with brunch and birthday cake, along with smiles, tears, laughter and wonderful stories. After Kerri’s dedication ceremony and birthday gathering, the Florida Blue team had inspirational words and statements framed in her honor. The frames will be placed in the lobby of the McGraw Center for Caring.
