March 4, 2021 (Gainesville, Fla.) - March is "Save Your Vision Month" and Community Hospice & Palliative Care, along with Concierge Care, Concierge Home Care, The Windsor of Gainesville, and Hurricane BTW restaurant, will host a drive-by eyeglass collection event on March 23 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Eyeglasses collected will benefit the Lions Clubs International Recycle for Sight Project. The Lions accept all glasses including prescription, over the counter and shades. Plan to "come see us" on World Optometry Day to drop off your gently-used eyeglasses and receive some free goodies including a milkshake, compliments of Hurricane BTW restaurant.
“We decided to hold an eyeglass drive to engage with and give back to our community in a meaningful way. All event sponsors are dedicated to improving the lives of seniors, which is a focus for us at Community Hospice & Palliative Care. This event will benefit many visually-impaired individuals and low-income families in our community,” said Charlene Stefanelli, Healthcare Relations Representative.
Everyone is welcome to drop off usable eyeglasses at this Covid-safe event by simply driving through the parking lot behind Hurricane BTW at 8181 NW 39th Avenue.
